How do you deal with nose hairs?

Electric trimmer specifically made for nose/ears/etc? OR grooming scissors? OR flick a BiC lighter and snort the flame?

Do you replace your homes smoke and CO detectors every 5 years as recommended?

A simple yes or no will do.

Fire Extinguisher Crew: Have you got your new FREE extinguishers yet? v.Kidde

Millions of fire extinguishers have been recalled. I believe they were also sold under other brand names so it doesn't necessarily mean if you don't have a Kidde it's not on the recall list and you can't get a new one. They'll send out a new version for free for every recalled unit you have...

AccuWeather: Break in the rain for 34 minutes. Should I start a fire?

I've made the choice to stop drinking again and so it's back to the bonfires since that really seemed to be therapeutic on my last 3.5 month break from alcohol. It's a good temperature for an outdoor fire (46º) and the light rain that's suppose to continue off and on all night might not be too...

I really need to get back out to the fire pit. It's so hot now though.

Even at night it only drops into the mid to upper 70's. I had a good one going the other night though: I might try for a little while tonight even though at 11pm it'll only have cooled down to 79º according to the forecast. :wtc:

Just waiting for the sun to go down...

It doesn't look like much but I think that will burn for a good 4 or 5 hours. Fire pit is 36" inside diameter so that big log is huge. I hope the 3 stacks below it are enough to get it burning good.
  14. Vatoloco

It's kind of a poverty fire but I'm feeling better already.

No fire last night because I spent the last 1.75 days sleeping on and off. But I finally dragged myself out at 3am today and got one going. Sweet relief. Not a ton of logs in it but it's a little breezy and that's adding a good effect I don't always get.

I'm about to head out to my backyard. Which lighter should I go with tonight?

  16. Vatoloco

1 day without a fire, 43 days without alcohol.

So no fire last night but I'm not going to be able to go 2 nights in a row without. I got my hands on some really good scraps of hardwood (Almond and Walnut) a couple days ago and I've been itching to burn it. It's already past midnight and I'll have to take a floodlight out if I want to build...
  17. Vatoloco

Going to try starting a fire now but I don't know if I'll succeed.

All the wood I have left are rather large logs. No smaller ones to get it nice and hot so the big one will burns and I figure 2am isn't an appropriate hour to make a ton of noise by splitting some logs. I'll see how it goes.
  18. Vatoloco

Fire update: It's going well tonight. Pleasant weather and no rain.

  19. Vatoloco

The rain is preventing me from going outside and starting a fire.

I don't even have an umbrella or a rain coat. I might just throw a hoodie on and do it anyway... or I could really go ghetto and put on a trash bag.

Testing it out for the first time tonight as soon as I need to move some burning wood around. Oh, and since when does USPS deliver on Sundays?
  23. Vatoloco

I guarantee I've spent more money on firewood than bourbon since I stopped drinking 2.5 weeks ago.

I've largely replaced the relief from boredom and life in general I got from liquor with sitting in front of a large fire for hours at a time sipping on caffeinated soda. I've usually got free wood from scraps a friend throws out at his woodworking business and scrap wood from my brothers...
  24. Vatoloco

I can tell I'm going to burn through all the firewood I just got today this night.

I tried getting some good hardwood scraps from my friends woodworking business but all he had today was a small amount of shitty pine. My dad let me have a few logs from a willow tree he cut down a few years back but it's burning fast. :wtc:
