Anyone with a 1911a1 (government) know of any good scope mounts? I'm thinking of adding a reflex sight.

Any suggestions for mounts that don't require tapping the frame?

Well you can get a doctor or a jpoint in a dovetail mount but I think it's less than ideal.

Sure, JPoint but in order to do it rite, will cost you much more than tapping your frame and does some damage to the slide.

I'll be testing both to see what I like.

Hell, what about the grips and magwell you have there? I bought a magwell feeder but it fucks up the plastic grips my springfield came with. Does yours mount under the grips? Do your grips make this possible without a huge gap when viewed from the rear?

You guys know AB is shooting a wide body 1911 right aka 2011. You guys are most likely running single stack 1911's. Thus the grip and magwell will be different. Best magwell for the single stack is the techwell http://www.techwearusa.com/product_details.asp?id=47

Also if your shooting 45acp it does not power a compensator very well. Especially with factory ammo

They have the models that will fit the 1911 frames as well. Just make sure to order the model for the .750 frame.

And yes, that is a 2011, wide body 1911, so my grip is totally different from a 1911.

The barrel is a Schuemann Ultimatch AET barrel with a Bedell Custom 7 port comp in .355

Not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying the comp is unecessary?
