Richard Walton STAFF WRITER [email protected] Two brothers from Spartanburg were shot to death after authorities say they broke into a home in Lyman early Wednesday. Lyman Police Chief Scott Suttles said the men were killed by a male resident of a Lawrence Street home who fired two shots with a shotgun at 2:40 a.m. Suttles said both the dead men and a third were armed with handguns. He said investigators don't think the three men knew the three people who lived in the residence. There were two men and a woman, he said. "We don't know motive," the chief said. Advertisement Suttles said it was out of the ordinary to have two people killed in Lyman, which has a population of 3,000. "I don't think we've had anything like this in quite a while," he said. The two men were identified as Marshall Leshaun Anderson, 28, and his brother, Travis Earle Anderson, 22, according to authorities and The Associated Press. One man died at the scene, and a second died while en route to or at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Suttles said. The third man was charged at the scene with burglary, assault with intent to kill, assault and battery and possession of a firearm, Suttles said. One male resident of the home suffered a head injury and was treated at Spartanburg Regional and released, Suttles said. No other injuries were reported. Not bad 2 out of 3.
