    on average, 50hp loss through rear wheel drivetrain.

    So 427whp = 477hp at crank.

    477hp GTO (gutted) vs 500hp Viper

    Dont forgot that Vipers are pretty light to begin with.

    I think so, got the video from ls1gto.com forums.
    Pretty sure it was just the rear seats and spare tyre.
    Maybe save 100kg?
    Viper still would've been lighter anyway.

    rear seats are maybe 7lbs? Spare tire? 10lbs? There's a few other things that save weight...I think my GTO is only down 50lbs or so though realistically. It's hard to drop weight with this car.

    No. More like a 20% loss, giving the gto 533 crank hp.

    Rear seats are heavy, the bottom cushion, just the cushion alone on a first gen neon is 8lbs. The back is 22lbs and it's made of cheap crap and plastic. 10lb spare tire? :bowrofl:

    Should be dropping weight at the front of the car realistically.
    You want all the weight at the back pressing down on the rear tyres.

    And it's only half a car length on the street, anything can happen on the street. That could easily be from reaction time.

    It's not a full size spare. :confused: I don't remember it being that heavy. Maybe you're right and it's 20lbs...

    Though the rear seat is definately very light. It's just a damn sponge. Top Portion isn't that much either.
