The o-ring was a recall item, IIRC. Dealer will HAVE to fix it for free. No matter how old the car is.

Wasn't a safety recall, just a TSB. TSB 21-002-05A

They should still honour that, because it is a well known issue with earlier models.

Well aware of this, I guess some service advisors are just nicer than others, as a few friends of mine have had their orings replaced. Not on warranty, no extended warranty either.

In my experience, when it comes down to TSB's, they will most likely do the repair. I had an 1989 S10. Had a TSB for the engine fan breaking apart and shattering the rad, etc. Took it in to the dealer and they replaced it and the rad, the truck was over 20 years old already. They did this all for free.

It all depends on where you take it, but in the long run they'll most likely do the repair to keep you as a customer.

Most dealers won't repair out of warranty for free, even if there's a TSB.
The exception being if you have a good service history with them depending on the situation they may take care of you.

And a 93,000 mile Dodge?
No thanks.

lol, i'd sell you a 2007 RT with an extended warranty @ 34k miles for $18k.

shop around some more. the daytona package doesn't really offer much extra.
