Previously: So I'm 34 and the newest car I've ever owned was a 2000 Cherokee XJ I bought in 2003. I've had newer motorcycles, but never had the money for a *new* car. So now that I've gone back to college, have a promising career, etc, it's time to take the plunge and buy my first new car. Earlier I had been interested in the 2015 WRX, but after a couple months of lusting, the ugly front end got me bummed and my interests shifted to a 2015 Mustang EcoBoost. Now I'm back at the WRX. The Mustang is pretty cool but it's heavy and I think the Subaru provides more value for the money (same price and it's quicker, lighter, higher resale value, and AWD). So I'm looking at the 2016 WRX. Base model, only option I'm interested in are the foglights. Looking to put down around $15k and finance the rest. Had thought about the STI wheels (black, 15-spoke), short shifter, etc. But then realized that if I let the dealer install all that shit, I'd miss out on the fun of buying/installing mods myself (for a shitload less money). So..... 2016 WRX Base, Lapis Blue Pearl. Eventually, I'd find a set of STi Limited wheels and swap them over, but for now it'd be a fun stock car. Thoughts, advice? Lapis blue WRX w/ the STi Limited wheels: Love that color. Although looking at the pictures, I feel like I need to get taller (and wider) rubber than stock. The tires in the bottom picture are almost "stanced" level of tire width to wheel. IMHO, the tire ought to be visibly wider than the wheel (larger contact patch = better).
