Had an idea to use aluminum for the paneling for my P1P enclosure and plexi for the door. Saving about $100 over full plexi. We'll see how well it works.

Also nice that I can throw the aluminum on my plasma table to cut custom holes for ventilation when I get to that point.

From what I have found online, it could be a plugin issue? But I don't think I have installed anything other than what is default, if anything.
Edit: found the plugins and none are selected. Could that be an issue?

Wtf is this. Printing some pteg and keep getting different sheens. Temp seems to be constant so the only thing I can think of is the filament.

Cool but I'm less excited than I was. Tried the "organic" supports on a recent project and they have their own issues. Not quite the magic bullet I was hoping for. Oh well. Back to my favorite support settings.

0.25mm z distance.
75% xy distance.
3mm support spacing.
3-4 interface layers.
0.2mm interface layer spacing.

I love, love, love the organic supports. Major game changer imo.

Also the lastest release where they fixed support material not bridging sparse infill.... I literally tossed a print in the trash yesterday that had a bumpy surface due to that. Nice to see it fixed albeit a day late for me.

usually that's cooling related not nozzle temp (could in theory be different wetness, but usually that's with super gyroscopic PC blends)

Not used to these min/max fan for layer time in seconds. I'm guessing thats probably it though. Any recommended changes?

I'm still fucking with my fan profiles, I don't really print PETG on mine. if you're worried about the color change you can just make the fan speed the same on the min/max threshold, you'll run into some weird edge cases where that fucks things up, but particularly printing enclosed it shouldn't matter nearly as much

Here's a question...

My extrusion is properly calculated. Feeding 100mm properly eats 100mm of filament. Cura is set to the correct nozzle size, I checked: 0.6mm.

But when I print, all the lines on the first layer have a uniform gap between them, and the whole print is brittle. Outer walls have these gaps as well, all the way to the top of the print. Only when I crank the "flow" to 150 does the filament fill out and the print work.

Obviously I shouldn't have to do this - what could be wrong?

Speed variation?

Hmm. Possibly. I know I did slow it down once or so for meetings. Can't remember if it was in line with the shift though.

I did some more reading last night and it sounds like lots of people have issue with pteg at standard speed. They usually have to either crank the nozzle temp ~10 over or print in silent mode to get good results.

Might try again and let it run in silent.
