First thing you'll want to do is swap the shitty drain with a lower profile one. Can't believe they still haven't fixed that.
I used a bar sink style drain with a stopper plug. Connect that to some PVC then down to a bucket. Makes clean up a bit easier.

no one needs a limit switch until they doI've been debating getting the limit switches. I don't really ever feel I need them though.
