Anyone have theirs fail? Any help from honda?
V6? i think the tl's have tranny issues too.
our 96 TL shifts like garbage
Mine died on me while I was on my way to my final.
drove mine 00 Accord for almost 3yrs and 35k miles with no issues
my mom's 00 accord SE auto tranny died at about 87k. got a new one under warranty
My 99 Accord V6 tranny died couple weeks ago. Had approx 48K. Honda covered the cost for a replacement tranny
7 year 100,000 miles warranty on my 2000 v6
now my car drives like new
its only with the V6 auto trannys
i was considering buying a 01-03 Acura CL untill I started doing some research
98-current accords have faulty transmissions, if you're still under your 100k mile warranty honda will replace your tranny for free but otherwise they wont do anything for you. i've had mine replaced on my 99 v6 once already and it feels like its about to fail again, but im out of my warranty now. check out www.v6performance.net there's alot of info on the transmission problem and a lawsuit against honda right now
fucking honda should stick to their root of 4 cylinder engines. something they have perfected.
very insightful there....there is nothing wrong with the design of the engine itself, they are quite stout in fact. The trannies main design problem is that they don't stay cool enough.......so the best thing you can do to prevent failure is buy the b&m super cooler kit or buy a CL Type-S transmission and ECU (good luck)
my 04 civic (manual) needs a new tranny. bearings going out, making a shitload of noise. approx 47k miles, lots of autocrossing
my 99 v6 clunks time to time on Reverse but it's been doing this since like 50k miles ago... It drives fine but in reverse, it clunks time to time like you ran over a coke can or something. I need to sell it b4 something big goes wrong...
yeah everyone i know with a V6 honda has had tranny problems eventually. Some at like 80k , others at lik 110k (at which point youre fucked)
if youre gettin a V6 honda, get an extended warranty. by 120k, youre almost guaranteed to neeed a new tranny
