Seems like a great idea to me. The UFC might as well use their name recognition for something more than just selling PPV.
These gyms will probably make a killing.
Ah its kinda cool idea actually, depending on the price I would go as long as they have some decent weights and shit like that.
i wonder who will be teaching the mma classes. It would be a great way to secure long time employment for fighters once their time is up. The big cities could get big names while the smaller cities could get smaller fighters.
sweet a new type of mcdojo
don't tell me you don't like the bigmac, fag
I love bigmacs thats why I'm so out of shape
big macs are garbage
excellent way actually, especially for the fighters who aren't makin higher double digit payouts
it's going to attract some of the ultimate douches.. hopefully it's run properly.. at the same time i hope it doesn't kill some of the smaller specialized gyms.
if they do it right they'll weed out the fighters from the dbags within a few months.
judging by the description it doesn't seem like they intend it to be a fighters gym. it just seems like a way to cash in on MMA's popularity in the fitness industry. it will be all fat guys and middle aged women wanting to get in shape a fun new way.
Bingo and thats where all the money is.
I am surprised this never happened before.
I also can't believe people actually like Mcdonald's. Everytime I ate a big mac as a kid I'd regret it instantly and feel the pain a few hours later as it exited my body at the same speed it was served. I haven't eaten there in like 10 years .
BJ penn and GSP getting gyms
I think having the ability to incorporate a traditional weight lifting gym with an MMA gym is a great idea as long as both trainers in weights and MMA have the necessary credentials......
Why do i think the entire cast of a forthcoming season of TUF will be only from these gyms
They will probably have to separate themselves from it somehow in that aspect. They mentioned something in the article about this not affecting enrollment in the ufc. Hell I'm sure the last thing Dana would need is a EXC-type drama about insider crap.
I remember him mentioning this in the video blog
