Just curious if anyone else gets these when training abdominals directly? Whenever I do leg lifts, crunches, or core stability ball work my upper abdominal muscles will seize up and cramp very bad, sometimes I can hardly breathe, I just sit there on the floor where I was doing crunches holding my stomach for 5 minutes until I can get up. The times that it has happened, the next day my abdominal muscles are super sore, feels like I did 10 sets of abs. I incorporate a lot of core work into my normal training by doing standing overhead movements etc. so my abdominals are not weak by any means, but this only happens when I train them directly, any clue? thanks.
