There was a perfect picture in the paper a while ago of canadians with tracers flying over head in a trench while reading a post card from NATO allies (that have yet to really come south of Kabul) that read "From kabul, with love" with a picture of them drinking beer.

:squintd: :hsd:

The Canadians are the only other country with balls besides the Brits and the American's to actually leave the wire. ISAF is a complete joke, ~33 other nations with 1,000+ troops per country and NONE of them ever go outside the wire or contribute to OEF or the war on terror. They sun bathe all day or chill out on mainside in Kandahar and the only reason these troops are in country is so the heads of states, presidents, and prime ministers of said countries can say they're contributing to the coalition and have troops in Afghanistan, just so they can say their country has troops in Afghanistan. Nobody in ISAF ever does anything and it's a fucking joke and makes me sick.

I did a ramp ceremony for a Canadian soldier killed by a mortar about 10 months ago, we treated him like he was a fallen Marine.

I have a lot of respect for the Canadians, way more than the British and way way more than the US Army, and it hurts everytime I hear about a canuck getting killed.

Way more than the Army?

When you die, I'll go in uniform and spit on your grave.

I just pray that day happens soon.

It is a pretty tough situation for us, sending battle group after battle group into places like Helmand, Panjwai, Sangin and Kandahar while supposed military 'powers' like France and Germany sit back up north and do fuck all but drink and eat. As usual we're pulling a lot more than our own weight and paying the price for it, but we're used to it by now and our biggest advantage is knowing that we have the nearly unconditional support of our people.

And when these three soldiers come back home, hundreds, if not thousands, will be standing by the Highway of Heroes to greet them.

I wondered when the dumbass Accord would return. It's not that you say you have little respect for the Army specifically, It's the fact that you, a member of the military service, don't respect your fellow servicemen and women. Pathetic, and if you truely feel that way, you are not worthy of the uniform you wear.

They deserve equal respect. I'm just going to assume you had a lapse in judgement and aren't really that stupid.

It's great that you come on here and make a big show of what you have done... but please have some friggin humility. I applaud your service, but you are making an ass of yourself and the military. Albeit wishing death is going a bit far, you need to get over yourself and recognize that thousands of others have gone through much worse than you will ever see, both in recent history and in past wars.

Only ones with a lapse in judgment were the soldiers we took friendly fire from.

You guys who don't like what I have to say can get fucked.

Shut the fuck up.

A report released Monday by U.S. Central Command recommends disciplinary action against a U.S. Marine Corps captain who called in airstrikes on his fellow Marines in the deadliest "friendly fire" incident of the Iraq war.

About 30 Marines wounded in friendly fire

WASHINGTON, Mar 27, 2003 (United Press International via COMTEX) - - Around 30 Marines were wounded by apparent "friendly fire" in a 90-minute battle Wednesday near an Nasiriyah, according to embedded reporters and Central Command officials.

Shells fired from a distance by one Marine unit fell on the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines, NBC News reported. The unit had fired the shells when the 2nd Battalion called for support after coming under fire from Iraq irregular troops, according to NBC, which has a reporter embedded with the battalion.

Everyone makes mistakes, it is a part of war.

Post all the news articles you want. When you're ACTUALLY THERE BEING SHOT AT, it's a little different.

Just because fucked up shit happens and it's war, doesn't mean I have to be forgiving.

No really. Shut the fuck up. Just because you were there doesn't give you any more credibility. Post some more retarded shit and everybody else here will see right through your thin veneer of bullshit and before you know it, you'll be back to zero cred that you once thoroughly dis-enjoyed.

What you saw in Afghanistan was a very thin cross section of what really happens. What you know about what happens amounts to about 1% of what really goes on from the squad / company ... fight on up through various headquarters to the very top at the highest echelons of the geo-political stratosphere.

Writing war from the bottom up is a retarded trend and empowers shit dicks like you to think that you actually know what the fuck is even happening around you.

You may know what it looks like from your fox hole, but in reality you're still looking at the elephant's ass.

And here is the validation for my prior post - the adults in the room are speaking Accord. You might want to put down your war-painted keyboard and listen up for a little bit.

You thought Accord had changed? He is a grunt. No disrespect to those that do that job, because I wouldn't want to, but you do what you're told and that's it. You don't think, you don't do what you want, you do what someone else says. You act all elitist like your a member of some special operations unit (and stfu before you even begin to say anything about "oh my MEU is SOC"), but at the end of the day your a god damn ditch digger. Get that through your head. I hope one day you're working side by side with the Army on an operation and they fucking hang you out to dry. Take it down a few notches, accept what you are, and stop posting stupid shit.

As a Canadian Infanteer... :bigthumb: Glad to see the respect is mutual.

And yeah, A-Stan shows the failure of NATO... "oh look how many allies are involved!" ... god damn hypocrites.

On a sadder note... :sadwavey: To my 3 comrades.

Me, a hippy? I'm far from swinging left buddy. Maybe I said what I said because I have respect for those in all branches, well, unless they act like you.

You help keep the streotype of marines:

1. You party and go to clubs in uniform
2. You act as if marines are gods gift to earth
3. You act as if the army infantry doesn't fight as hard as marines do
4. You have disregard for life as seeing by your posts, you speeding like a crazy fuck down streets

But me, I don't judge people on streotypes, I just hate those, like you, who help keep those stereotypes going. I have plenty of friends that are marines, and those who were in the marines but are now in my army unit. Both my infantry friends and marine friends get along with no problem and talk about the shit they've been through over in Iraq.

Unlike you, they don't think of themself being higher than the other because of their branch.

yes, hate everyone in a certain group because of something bad that a few have done to you...and dont hate your side because they have done the exact same thing...very logical way of thinking/making decisions!

you know what is very easily compared to that in the real world? racism

are you a dumbass fucking piece of shit racist? because you sound like one
