anyone have them? im thinking of getting some for my carry.
why else do you put adjustable sights on something? to make it more accurate
hmm, I don't consider the glock adjustable sights an increase in accuracy.
Getting aftermarket sights can aid in accuracy, but the adjustable sights offer the same sight picture.
I wouldn't use adjustable sites for carry, but that is just me.
Target gun, yes. Carry gun, no.
Adjustable for carry? lol
What if he has to make 30 yard headshots on a bad guy?
His money would be better spent on a good lawyer at that point. 30yds away isn't a threat.
I had factory adjustables on my G23. I found them to be pretty useless. If you want advised on it, I'd tell you to get some decent fixed night sights and call it a day. On my G17 I have factory Glock night sights, and am thoroughly pleased with them...
i was thinking the xs big dots too
i have XS big dots on my carry 19 and sevigny carry sight w/ tritium front on my car 17. i think ill shoot the 17 at the next idpa match to see how i like them in comparison to the XS to see which i'm going to stick with on my other glocks.
Q: what do you do if you get a glock and always shoot low and to the left
A: buy adjustable sights
Big dots are a good choice for a carry gun. Don't expect to punch 10 rings at 25+ yards with them, they aren't designed for that purpose.
Yeah, shoot somebody that far out, and try to explain to the court how the person 30yds/90 ft away from you was an immediate threat to you or others, and that your actions were not endangering property and persons around you.
An average in-shape male can sprint 30 yards in about 4-5 seconds. How long does it take you to draw and place an accurate shot? At 30 yards a threat is still a threat. This was demonstrated in my CPL class although at 15 yards. From low-ready to 2 center mass shots at 15 yards, it took me about 4 seconds since one of my shots missed. Obviously someone 15 yards away would be in my face in way less than 4 seconds so that's just something to think about...
Did anyone elses XS sights on there glocks go in without any force. I just smacked it with my hand, and it went in and slide back and forth in the slide channel with zero resistance .
And if you want adjustable sights go with Dawson
And what if it's someone who has a knife or gun to your wife or child's head?
Yeah, but if they're running towards you and you draw, by the time you're ready to fire they'll be rather close. You're not actually shooting them @ 30 yards.
Just cary an Insta-Yar with you, pull him out and by the time they have the second footstep on the group hes already got a tight group of 10rds in him at 30yds
Nope, I had to do some file work in the rear to get it to fit correctly.
If yours went in that easy, red locktite the shit out of it so it doesn't fly off.
Yea im just wondering how well thats going to work as red locktite breaks down with heat and slides can get pretty damn hot
You can call XS, they might swap it for you. It shouldn't just slide in that easily.
