A&P Advice for shooting groups of people?

Discussion in 'Lifestyle' started by coughlin's law, Feb 29, 2008.

  1. At work today, I lent my camera for some employee photos. I was using my trusty Sigma 10-20 and a tripod, but a few photos came out looking like CRAP.

I was shooting around F/5.6 @ 20mm, ONE SHOT Focus, ISO 100-400, but the photos came out dark.... and people couldn't stand worth a crap... BUT the next group I shot later on in the day was F/11, ISO 800, ONE SHOT which turned out better...

I'll post some photos later, I'm at work still... any advice to give?

    Shooting outside?

Just shoot how you would normally?

  3. indoors, the white balance was a nightmare... and people couldn't line up if their lives depended on it.... would having an external flash helped at all?

    1. wtf does
    mean.

    2. why were you changing your iso?

    3. what was your shutter speed?

The rest of your post doesn't make any fucking sense, so I can't reply.

Why would having an external flash help people stand better?

and shooting on auto white balance would probably fix your white balance issues.

If you're shooting a group of people lined up. Just go auto or A mode incase you want some DOF :dunno:

No need for manual in this situation surely?
