So I am a 3C. 6 Year enlistee. I know the odds of getting a CJR are slim to none for people in my career field. I want to stay in. I also need a special duty to fill in the box to make Chief. I put on SSgt in June. This leaves me with Recruiter, MTL, MTI, and PME Instructor. Recruiting would be nice right NOW, because of the low manning quotas. What about two years down the road? MTL would be nice due to the work hours and the different bases that have MTLs. The drawback is the students themselves. Think of basic trainees, set free. If I get stuck at Keesler, I will pull my hair out. MTI would be nice because of the job satisfaction, mystique of MITs, and I might be able to swing OCS or Medina which would be PME Instructor would make me want to choke someone, and you can't. Plus I would have no experience as an NCO to rely on. I have to make this decision in October. Time to think about it now. I am leaning towards MTI, but I am still gathering information. Thoughts? Ideas?
