If I liked Enfield actions, I would probably buy one.

I really want one of these, and was sad to see them go the last time AIM had them up for sale. With only 300 of them, they'll go quick. I really want one, but knowing I could get nearly 3 Mosins for the same price is kind of holding me back.

I really want to get one as a gift to myself for Graduating with my masters in a week, but I don't know if there will be any left, and i'm debating whether it's worth it for handpick.

Has anyone gotten one of these before?

On top of that, you can still buy surplus ammunition easy for the Mosins.

I'll stick with my .303 ones.

Yes. Better steel and stouter than the .303s. Shares ammo with the FAL I'll have one day.. what's not to like?

Here was one of their $100 ones from a few months ago after being cleaned, stripped, and repainted.

I've read those articles on surplus rifle but I'm not as convinced. I don't think its a matter of pressure. Looking at loads for both .308 and 7.62 you'll see that they both chuck a similarly weighted bullet at roughly the same speed. The acceptable headspace for a nato rifle is longer than for .308 though and I think thats where the problem comes in. Who knows if the .308 brass will fit properly or hold up in guns where the headspace is larger than .308?

I have 2 ishys, one will close on a .308 field gauge, one will not. I personally would not fire .308 in the one that does, reduced recoil or not. Ymmv.
