Who else is gonna be there?
25 bucks + gas to laugh at some otaku no thanks
ya, the whole price to get in is rediculous, but Im not driving and its nearly impossible to find good super robot dvd's and models that arent on the internet around here
I'm going because Sekushiihara is a big lamer poser fag.
I hope the exhibit hall has some fools selling cool Bleach shit for me to waste money on. Otherwise I will be very disappointed.
if you're just in it to look at cosplayers, you don't need to pay. the few times i went years ago, i was able to walk around most areas just fine. i just couldn't really do anything
This is true. The cosplayers all hang out in and around the convention center and adjacent hotels. There's plenty of stuff to check out without having to pay anything. The admission gets you into the main events, like panels and contests/competitions and the exhibition hall where all the dealers sell stuff. Last year I saw Linda Tran even had a booth. She was signing autographs and posing for pics and shit.
what is there to do at the expo other than to look at cosplayers? all I herd is that they sell products there for an arm and leg
guest panels. watch anime. play games. imported shit. sometimes even get to see sneak previews. i remember being one of the first to see the escaflowne movie
i've never actually bought anything from the exhibit hall though. living next to huge japanese and other asian communities in LA, i already have access to all of that for much less
there are also art exhibits. you could also meet artists that are willing to draw things for you. some are free. some aren't. some are real professionals. some like to call themselves "captain charicature".
cosplayers can participate in events such as the masquerade thing. it's kind of like a talent show for cosplaying. i've always wanted to watch, but never got the chance
there are also nightly dances and what not. sorry for the multiple posts, i'm just remembering things off the top of my head
sometimes venders will give away stuff for free. bandai always has some pretty cool giveaways
The Masquerade is one of the dorkiest things I've ever witnessed. Along with AX Idol and the karaoke contest.
it's expensive just to drive there and park.
they're roleplaying. if people are roleplaying and sex isn't involved, of course it's the dorkiest thing ever
where are you from?
you're in socal, so it shouldn't be that bad. unless you're on the border of california and mexico
