The g/f took her first ride on her new to her 87 Kawi EX500 last night.
I felt so proud
Awesome! My wife has expressed some interest in learning to ride, gotta look into getting her into a class.
What I wouldent give for a GF who rode.
My gf can barely make it on 4 wheels let alone 2.
Thats awesome. I hope my next g/f is into riding.
congrats man! mine has expressed intrest in a duel sport (what i prefer, maybe thats why )
but either way i think i found a lightly used 07' XT225 for like right at 2k bucks. she likes it, and i think it would def be a way to start small.
how tall is your old lady & did you have to lower the ex500?
I was trying to start mine out on a old Polaris Trailblazer, then the town commandeered all of our trails and rezoned them as 'hiking paths'- making it illegal to ride motorized on their semi-patrolled 'nature walk'.
she was hooked on bikes after I took her for a ride on my Bandit. she's even hooked on watching bike racing. Took her to the MotoGP race in Assen last year and she made sure we ordered tickets for the Indy MotoGP race as soon as they went on sale
5'3-5'4. didnt' need to do anything to the EX
My GF rides a 97 EX...I started on one too...excellent bikes to learn on IMO.
I took it for a couple of spins after I fixed a few things and the thing is fun for an underpowered (for me) bike. You can really throw it around
Yup..best part is that it's very forgiving and handles quite nicely in the twisties
feels like my old ZX6R when I get on it after I ride my Bandit12
