I may or may not have purchased a volcano there back in the day
I bought a friend one of those ice bong molds from them and I bought my first rebuildable atomizer from them as well.

They stopped selling basically everything "untoward" when they switched from "massdrop" to "drop" IIRC.

I am kinda sad that they've basically refined themselves down to JUST audiophile and mechanical keyboard stuff.

They used to have some cool shit in the camping, computer, and every-day-carry sections. :hsd:

Yeah I liked how they ballooned into everything for a hot bit then shrunk back into loyal fanbase only categories. Actually don't mind them as an audiophile store.

So I know you just bought the Box Whites, but in the future if you really dig clicky and want the tippy top of the range you might look into some Zeal Clickiez in either the 45g or 75g flavor. The 75g ones will be SUPER CLICKY

Also, you might look at taking that mid-plate out, pulling your PCB and swapping out your snap-in stabilizers for some screw-in ones, either from C3Equalz or Zeal, they're going to have a much better run life and are way more serviceable through the life of the keyboard.

I like box whites.

I am using box jades now. Not sure I like they as they feel so damn heavy compared to the whites. Yet the claim only like 5g difference. Bullshit.
Linus is apparently going to use that robot he's got in his lab and going to be testing switches, cause you're definitely right. A lot of these OEM's are just fudging numbers.

Need someone in the tech space like Project Farms to go FULL AUTISM MODE in their testing, maybe GN would do it but I feel like they think keyboards are beneath them.

:wtf:

Almost $2 a switch?!? $126 + tax + shipping for a 65 key.

Paid $38 for 70 Jades.

the feel difference between Zeal's and other switches is serious.

To get my C3 Dragonfruits to feel like my stock Zealio V2's I had to lube and film all of them, the Zeal's felt amazing right out of the box.

Funny thing is though that they still to this day have the worst packaging, C3, Halo, Novel Keys, all the rest have these custom made tupperware containers and Zeal sends their shit in an offbrand ziploc bag wrapped in bubblewrap. :rofl2:

I’m learning so much, up until recently I only knew of cherry MX and its clones so my knowledge was everything was either “blue and clicky” and “brown and not clicky”. :)

this is the first time I ever swapped a switch. I thought I had a switch puller but what I had was a very odd shaped key puller so I used two small flat head screwdrivers to get the switches out. Went pretty easy.

I think the whites are a good amount of clicky for now. Luckily I WFH and have my own office so I can be as loud as I want

In one of GNs recent vids he says he uses a cheap keyboard. Don't think he really cares about keyboards.

I used this kit right here forever and still use that green switch puller because the "better" ones have had issues:

Pro-tip, always go in from the top and bottom of the switch, if you go in from the side it's just going to open up and then you're kinda boned.

yeah, figured as much

I dunno, as much as I use my keyboard I couldn't imagine going back to using a cheap one.

Like I physically cringe when I have to use my work laptop's keyboard, and I know how that makes me sound.

I gotta wonder if the guys selling their shit on /r/mechmarket 90% complete with only keycaps needed ever used those or bought them with the intention of constructing them and selling them on that forum for 1.5x the price they paid for them.
