Linus is apparently going to use that robot he's got in his lab and going to be testing switches, cause you're definitely right. A lot of these OEM's are just fudging numbers.

Need someone in the tech space like Project Farms to go FULL AUTISM MODE in their testing, maybe GN would do it but I feel like they think keyboards are beneath them.
I'd argue that linus building a 100k keyboard tester is full autism mode

I successfully made it another winter without going into the lubing rabbit hole
It's something to keep my hands busy, especially since I'm actually treating my ADHD now I have the motivation to do it more often.

When I'm not working on my jeep, renovating my kitchen, or....you know....working.

right now I do things like re-prep my fishing gear or play with 3d printers to fill that void, just a different flavor of whatever mental health diagnosis I should probably have :o

the feel difference between Zeal's and other switches is serious.

To get my C3 Dragonfruits to feel like my stock Zealio V2's I had to lube and film all of them, the Zeal's felt amazing right out of the box.

Funny thing is though that they still to this day have the worst packaging, C3, Halo, Novel Keys, all the rest have these custom made tupperware containers and Zeal sends their shit in an offbrand ziploc bag wrapped in bubblewrap. :rofl2:
Spent marketing money on those photos lol

Zeal is made at much higher tolerance levels and lower volume at gateron. At least that's how they explain the price.
I've used them in three of my own builds and now 4 times in customer builds and found it to be the case.

You just can't compare them to stock cherry, gateron, or kailh switches and even other boutique brands like C3, everglide, and Magic Girl don't get there.

Tbh I prefer c3 for linears. I liked tangies more than sakuras or roselios or whatever they're called. Haven't really had experience with their tactiles but I know their bumps are polished so well.

I just remember reading them touring factory after factory and thinking that gateron is the only one that can achieve what they want at the quality they wanted. Sounded stressful AF.

:hmm:

Seems the stupidfish foam I bought, durock stabs, and the poron stab foam should all arrive before next weekend.
 I might need to try out Stupidfish's candybar foam, I'm using one I made out of toolbox foam currently, but would be nice to have something purpose built. :hmm:

now you just need to get a wrist pad for the keyboard, personally I recommend stab wood or opaque acrylic as they're easy to clean.

Want to stay away from foam of any kind. :o
