My wife did, company did very little until another person came forward with similar complaints about the individual. The guy ended up getting transferred to a different location and was banned from working at the same building as the people who complained. (Union, seniority based and they were all senior to him)

Without getting too detailed because that’s obviously very personal. Was what your wife reported verbal? Meaning what she reported she didn’t have in writing (DM, email, etc)?

I believe his actions were verbal. All the reporting my wife did about the individual was in writing and I believe during an interview with HR and management it might have been recorded. The other girl who had problems with him had things written about her and made public around the company.

The guys a whack job and had been fired previously but managed somehow to get his job back.

I am usually the same way (been working for over 17 years and this is really the first time I’ve done anything like this) and again without getting too detailed this was directed at a large group of people and it was said to me in text.

Yes, because what he said was within range of where families with kids could overhear.

They talked to him, and then told me to let them know if it happened again.

It didn't, he apologized and we were fine.

Nah, I tend to ignore that shit. I mean if it was directed at me I'd prob say something. Depends on what it is I suppose and how serious

As a freelancer I try to stay out of office politics, but I did report a guy in 2019 who was WAY too touchy feely with the women who reported to him, as well as openly and obnoxiously dismissive of their contributions. Upper MGMT said "yeah we know, but unfortunately he's currently too valuable to us to be fired for this". 3 months later he pissed off a major client of theirs (Nike) and they fired him the next day. I will likely just stay out of shit in the future.

Situation: a couple of years ago, I worked for a company that was just toxic. My manager would make homophobic comments during meetings WHILE there were homosexual people in the meeting. He would laugh at other employees behind their back and make fun of them in front of clients (like making fun of their haircuts and such). He would make fun of overweight coworkers (other managers) behind their backs. Non-drinkers and religious people (not bible beaters mind you, just folks that went to church) were openly excluded from business opportunities. Management would openly brag and say things like, "We didn't invite Antonio to the conference. He doesn't drink so we decided to invite another associated who would be more fun." There was an annual employee survey about employee satisfaction. Management would openly laugh about their bad grades. People would say, "I hope we get better markings than last year." And they'd respond, "I don't think that will be a problem. Pretty sure anyone who graded us negatively was fired."

Results from reporting this behavior to HR: I was fired

No but I was reported for racist comments I never said, backed up by minority boss and co-worker, at my civilian job to the military

At an old job, everybody had a very thick skin, and talked shit to each other constantly(think construction workers). Twice new guys had an issue with some things that were said, and were promptly fired for a critical safety issue that didn't exist, and one requiring a license that they knew was impossible to get in the given time frame. Both were okay workers, but liabilities in terms of being sued I guess.
