...i am going to shiokazekon this friday and saturday in houston
not doing cosplay ofcourse
i might take some pics and make a thread
you definately should i love cons. i always get so fucking trashed. i can barely remember acen last year...
there really has to be an anime convention in NYC area. where can I find a list of anime conventions around the country?
whoa there's gonna be one at hte meadowlands
and one in boston that i can go to next year
Anime Boston isnt too bad, went to the one 2 years ago
You should come down, you can stay at my place
did you go all three days or just one? I'm afraid of the timing because it's close to finals week at BC and I should probably study instead of going to an anime convention.
if you're in NYC, i really suggest you drive down to OTAKON this summer
AKON Ftmfw !!!!
i need to find some older guyz to provide me with some since i am 17
maybe i could find the one hot chick that will be there and have some fun
edit: anyone in houston gonna come to shiokazekon
I actually didn't even buy a ticket. A friend of mine couldnt go on saturday, so I took his id and just made sure the picture was face down. At anyrate we were both asian and we all look alike yada yada yada. There was a friend that actually got a anime boston lanyard but didn't have an id, so he put the lanyard into his shirt pocket and actually was asked to take it out but as he started to do so the guy was like forget it.
It wasn't bad, the year I went was before they moved it to hynes convention center, so I don't know how it is now. I'm hoping next time I go its grown though, if it hasn't it'd be a bit of a disappointment. Timing wise I honestly didn't spend all day there, I spent a few hours there from 3-8 but after that I was done, and a good amount of time was at the vendors. Cons have alot of set planning, so unless you have nothing to do and want to watch anime on a big screen in a room full of otakus you have better things to do. imho I'd look at the scheduling and see whats going on, ie a popular writer, or voice actor making an appearance is there or someone you want to see aim for those times. There is stuff to do though, like the game room and stuff, but those are usually filled and packed with people anyway. Boston con is good b/c there's a con period, compared to other major cons/conventions it pales in comparison. For example major cons get actual vendors of games to come and have booths for tournaments and advertising etc. The time I went to anime boston, tournaments etc were held on staff's ps2's etc.
Also you're going to BC? if so congrats, thats actually literally 10minutes away from where I live.
