With a name like that, I thought it would be chambered in .50 BMG.
Probably more than it should be
meh... i'd rather get a Rem LTR and build it up from there.
I don't think I've ever seen you make a post about a rifle and not mention an LTR
so it's basically a Remington M700 chambered in .308 Win with a few aftermarket accessories bolted on???
Why not build it yourself? It'll probably be cheaper that way... And most definitely better because you get to choose the components that you want, and you get the enjoyment of doing it yourself.
Well I have one, and love it. I think everyone should have one.
why the LTR over the standard 700P?
shorter, fluted bbl. more slimlined stock. Mostly weight savings, cause I can hunt with it, no problem. and shoot sub-moa at the range whenever I want.
oh, and it's more lightTACTICOOLrifle than the standard 700P
so for bench shooting, the extra weight wouldn't really matter
No, it doesn't. If I had a dedicated bench rifle, i'd have a long range setup in .338 WinMag or .300 WinMag with a full 26, or longer bbl to get full velocity out of the ammo.
with the bbl being about 6" shorter I lose about 100-200 fps from it.
