I wasn't going to mention it because it's just makes it apparent that, that dude has never driven / ridden in an EV, he prob works for the oil/ gas industry and is all mad at EV's in general

i alway enjoy how confident they are on all the shortcomings of EVs without ever being in one let alone living with one.

Being able to drive an extra hour on long road trips, range loss when driving up to the mountains to snowboard, range loss due to cold weather, peace of mind when off-roading, reduced range anxiety, etc..

Realistically I want a 500+ mile EV so that once you factor in charging to 80% and charging again at 10% you end up with over 300 miles of actual driving range. My current SUV gets nearly 500 miles of driving range on a single tank of gas, which is muy fantastico.
No reason to only charge to 80%. 90 is just fine, and the new lfp packs are recommended to charge to 100 every time

on road trips you dont wanna waste time above 80% charging. just move on down the road to the next charger unless you're eating a full sit down meal.

Oh, I thought he was referring to only charging to 80% at home to preserve battery life. Nevermind then

Was able to place an order for a Lightning a couple days ago. Went with a Lariat SR. The price difference for the ER simply isn't worth it for me. I very rarely drive long distance. I have a Mach E ER and haven't even come close to using most of the charge.
