Anyone in the construction/lumber industry know if the ridiculous lumber prices are going down anytime soon?

Saw that tariffs on imported softwood from Canada just dropped from 20 to 8.9%. Prices are just nuts

I grew up in the logging industry and everyone I grew up with was raised on the "timber dollar" and in the 18 mile radius we had 7 lumber mills. That being said, everyone I know in the lumber industry has not slowed down, from logging, lumber, and paper mills and they have even increased production in the majority.

It's definitely put my woodwork hobby on hold, hoping prices come down soon

We have a gigantic mill here locally just off the highway, I drive by multiple times per week and the place is empty. As soon as it’s ready to go it’s gone. Prices are fuckin nutty

Slowly dropping as most of the nation gets into winter - where homebuilding slows down a bit.

Prices here have dropped at least 1.50. The highest price I saw was 8.53 for a 2x4x10 at Home Depot :o
