if so whatcha got?
If they have a class three license they are a dealer, and their inventory is more than likely always changing. There are a few people on here that have NFA weapons though, I believe.
Uzi Full Auto
and some Cans..
Was it worth it to get it, all the expense and hassle?
Its not a license! Each weapon is considered a class 3.
Just working on getting a M-60.
Wrong! The weapons are title 2 or NFA weapons.
The dealer in nfa firearms is a class 3 SOT, manufacturer is class 2, class 1 is importer. Class 1 or 2 allows you to deal in NFA arms as well. You have to have certain FFLs to have these be an SOT. Manufacturer FFL for 02, etc
I went the trust route and it was easy.
Paying more than you know the weapons worth is another story
What does it take for the average individual to be able to purchase NFA weapons? The BATF website is rather unhelpful when it comes to answering thisquestion.
Be of age, CLEO signoff, passport photos, fingerprints, and $200 tax or $5 tax depending on the item.
Also have to have the item sent to a class III dealer. Fees vary with each dealer.
you live for that, don't you
I thought some flavor of individual federal firearms license was required.
CLEO is Sheriff or Chief of Police signoff? I imagine that procedures for that vary by states/locality?
That is true if the gun you are purchasing is out of the state in which you reside. If it's in the same state as you. You and the previous owner can do ther peperwork without a dealer.
Yes the CLEO signoff is the Chief of Police of the city you reside, the Sheriff of your county, the head Prosecuting DA, and some Judges.
cleo = certified law enforcement officer iirc
You do not have an FFL of any sort. You might have tax stamps. The thread starter asked if people had licenses.
I think thats Chief LEO, not certified. Because it's not just any cop, but the head cop.
Go over to ATF.gov, search for CLEO...and every occurance seems to be chief, not certified(where they have the acronym spelled out, anyway)
It is chief.
Police chief, sheriff, DA, certain judges, certain individuals in charge of state bureaus of investigation, governor, president. They're all CLEO's.
I got my type 7 FFL and started doing my Class 2 SOT but it was alot of money and paperword, and i decided i did not want to be a gunsmith apprentice anymore.
Or buy from a local manufacturer and save on transfer fees.
If you have any interest in a 9mm or .22 can I'll be picking one up soon f/ Halo mfg and trying them out.
I would really like to pick up a .22 can but I'm not quite 21 yet Soon as I turn 21 though, that will be one of the first things I do.
