mantaray for GMs?
the bar always rolls on me and hurts my neck.
the manta ray doesn't work for gm's...position the bar lower
ya, just a comfort thing. if low where it doesnt roll, starts to fall back when upright. no biggie, thx
manta ray for GM's sounds like a recipe for disaster
i can't use a manta ray even for squats.
never used em, thas why i asked
SSB or cambered bar
I use a cambered for gms usually andmy bar position is lower than my squat bar position. less distance = less moment force at the base of the spine.
and why is that?
pinches my traps, its very uncomfortable, feels like i dont have control of the bar.
I thought that was the idea
I thought it was to make the bar easier to hold. It doesn't make the bar eaiser to hold.
its supposed to feel unstable
its supposed to change your center of gravity
its supposed to make you keep your core tight because of the instability, simmilar to a front squat
Cambered bar on top of rear delts ftw for GM's.
wtf no. nothing like that is even romotely said on any site containing any information about the manta ray. It is supposed to take bar support out of the squat equation.
So the guys at westside and Diablo use it because they are too pussy to put the bar on their back?
Maybe, but I dont think so.
Who the fuck is talking about wbb?
Or its a shitty peice of equipment that doesn't do what it claims.
the Westside guys use it because it places the bar in a different position and changes the leverage
Nothing that I read by Simmions or Tate said anything about
what do you think changing leverage does grouch?
Many things Im sure.
But it wouldnt make the bar feel unstable as though its going to tip to the left or right of my back. And make it feel like I dont have control over the bar.
This is what Tate and Simmons have to say about it. Again I dont see even them saying it supposed to make the bar any more unstable.
Squat Assistance - Simmons believes that the Manta-Ray and the Safety Squat Bar are very good for helping to build the squat. He believes that the Manta-Ray somehow helps your deadlift as well - you have to stay upright when using the Manta-Ray and it helps isolate the legs.
Manta Ray: If you can’t afford the Cambered Squat or Safety Squat bar then look into the manta ray for a change to low box squatting for max effort work. This piece of equipment places the bar higher on your back by increasing the distance from the load of the bar to your hips. This will train your lower body and back harder than just using a straight bar.
well, i have not ever used one, so i dont know if it feels like tis coming out of the device
so adamant that he is wrong and hes the one using it not you.
btw if u want something to feel like a front squat, why not do a front squat?
ill stick to pain and/or a pad.
Just get a lower bar position and/or get so tight that there is no way that the bar is moving
