A guy on a bmw forum made that statement and I told him he was full of shit. This was his reply -
Yeahhh.. That's why my LS1 has over 260,000 miles..
hes exaggerating, but generally true of all auto manufacturers
hence why there are no perfect cars.
Or appliances even.
you can't have perfect anything when theres mass production... its really just a gamble anytime you buy anything....
sounds like a know it all 16 year old with a BMW that mommy bought him
sure, it can be assumed with any manufacturer... but he is a fuckin retard
My first ls1 only lasted 30k
Becuase I beat the fuck out of it and it was still under warranty
Because BMW makes a more reliable engine than the LS1
it's not the engines, it's the rest of the car that won't last 100k.
Fixed. Most appliance makers, auto makers, tv makers, hell even light bulb makers are like this. If they wanted they could make a lightbulb that would last your lifetime and put out good light. But they cant make more money on resales like that.
That guy is an idiot.
l o l ?
Where did you get this information?
seen lots of guys with very very high milage ls1's that are still running them at the track. We got 80k on he ls1 t/a and my dad has well into 100k on his LS1 Sierra
Partially true, but the same for all mass produced shit that gets abused..
theres a lightbulb still running from the 1900s or some shit lol
Sounds like the BMW guys are cunt hurt that they don't have the head technology that GM has.
they have vanos though
It's relative to that saying - the money isn't in the cure; it's in the medicine
Car manufacturer's don't necessarily want to make an end-all machine that you can own for decades and never have dated technology
73k on a 99 LS1 T/A here, engine is running like a gem
Because the M3 motors are traditionally bullet proof, right?
