beat me to it.
Still, for portability vs. good realestate, I will stick with my 15"er.
the 8x DL superdrive is the only notable improvement over the 15" version,
hopefully they'll release rev b of the 15" version soon
we're not going to see a 15" rev b for a while eh?
just pull the trigger, i picked up my MBP last week
i have the latest rev 15" PB, I'm gonna wait
Pleasant surprise for a Monday morning... been waiting for this day for a while now.
Almost went with the 15" MBP but couldn't do it after using a 17" PB for the last couple years.
Although, it is highly unlikely that I will buy 17 inch.. but still
And what a bargain at 3 grand .
I'm waiting for the fucking macbook. I hope they cut to the chase and release a 12 and 15 inch macbook at the same time.
I doubt we'll see a 12" MB. The rumors have been a 13.1" widescreen for a while now.
I'd say the firewire 800 port is worth mentioning too. Does anybody know if the 400 and 800 ports share the same bus like on previous powerbooks?
13.1 inch MB would be fucking sick. As long as it has a sub 1700 dollar price tag.
prolly $1000 range starting price.
And on that note, my MBP is going to the Apple store this week.
Seems like this 17" MBP is a true powermac away from the desk. 8X superdrive and Firewire 800 are really good features.
I agree. I prefer the 15" but this is definitely a nice upgrade!
I hope it doesn't come out with like a 1.3 GHz intel single core and no upgrades. I want something more than that, but I don't need 2.0GHz.
i got my 2.0 Ghz for $2249, which wasn't a bad price for it.
aaaaaaahahahahhahaha omg $3k. how much as the last PB? damn, this is comedy gold. im so fucking poor
after have a 17" powerbook for about 2.5-3 years if i was going to upgrade i would get a 15" mbp, the 17" is just so big and i dont really need all that space, even though it is nice
so, we can expect decreased battery life compared to the 15" MBP?
If the battery is the same, yes. Apple may have increased the battery capacity for the 17".
Fully equipped: $3300. Damn. I want one.
