Took the first test for SFPD and passed, a simple English test. Got the oral interview in a couple weeks and then a physical test on the 28th. From what I've learned, the physical is a quick obstacle course which has you sprinting and ducking under low bars, jumping a 4ft wall, more bars, pushing a football pad, and then running it again but pulling a 150lb dummy instead of the football pad, all within 35-45seconds. If you don't make it in the allotted time, you have to do as many sit-ups as you can in 2 minutes, followed by a stationary pedal bike for 2 minutes. Not much of a physical, but I need work. Now I'm a big dude, 6'4 and 360lbs. I've actually lost about 20lbs so far, trying to eat healthier and work out. Picked up a mountain bike and been doing some trails and hitting the SF hills for stamina. If I DO pass the physical, I need to drop a shit load of weight. For my height, I think I need to weigh 230-240lbs max. So I guess this is the beginning of my progress thread. Let's see what I can accomplish in the 3 weeks till my physical first. Any tips/encouragement greatly appreciated.
