    So I applied a CSS background to the body which I wish to have repeated all the way down the page:

    body{
    background-color: #FFFFFF;
    background-image: url(./bg.png);
    background-repeat: repeat-y;
    background-position: 50% 0px;
    }

    This is exactly what I wanted, the problem is I have no control over the top now. For instance, I want to put navigation above it, before it starts to display the image. I could apply the background to a content div to control it better, but then it would only repeat the image enough to cover the content I had in the div. I would like to maintain the look of it repeating to the bottom of page, no matter how little content there is.

    Any ideas?

    Do you have a separate defined style for the header? Are you referencing it within the tags for the items that are supposed to be in the header?
