So me and a friend went to the range today. He pulled out his new ar pistol to shoot and it would shoot one round, then half the time it would fail to feed into the chamber. the other time it would chamber the round but the trigger would not be set to fire.

i let him put my ciener kit into it with a 10 round magazine and it shot the kind of shooting you have to pay a tax stamp for .....flawlessly. it dumped the 10 round and i said, "get that shit out of there". we never tried it again

anvil arms lower
short buffer tube
pistol length upper
dont know the brand of the lpk

He's a retard.
 This beats anything I could come up with. Seriously how should any of us know exactly what is fucked? Its probably the trigger group, specifically disconnector related. I don't know if he didn't put in a spring, put in the wrong spring, ground it to fit with a dremel, pounded it in with a hammer, or used a load of man juice for assembly lube. Get someone who knows what they're doing to look at it, or even a child that is good at those "spot 5 differences in the two drawings" and you'll probably find it easily.

you're posting on a public message board about a gun accidentally going full auto.

no one HAS to help you and you're being a dick about what we're saying.

im not being a dick. you thew out the smart ass comment about how much more specific can you be about something that you changed the wording

yeah i'm posting it
1. its not my gun
2. i didnt shoot it, touch it, or have it in my possession at any time
3. all parts i own are legitimate and semi-auto only

theres nothing that can be done for me being a bystander of someone that has a malfunctioning gun. he said hes going to call the guy that made/built it to get a refund

Forgive me if I'm wrong, and I may be, but haven't you posted stupid shit in the past and then thrown tantrums when people gave you responses you didn't want to here?

An obviously malfunctioning gun isn't something I'd be concerned about as long as you don't keep shooting it after it malfunctioned.

There are several things that could cause issues like that, but primarily, I'm trying to imagine what could be happening that would allow it to feed a round but not cock the hammer. Are you certain that is whats happening? I can only think that would mean his whole FCG is moving around during recoil.

I've seen that happen if the disconnector spring isn't installed (either installed correctly [i.e. wrong spring] or if it's completely missing)

Hammer actually doing a light strike on the .223 but hard enough to ignite the .22 maybe. Then there is the half-feeds..

Whole lotta fail going on in that gun. Someone who knows how to put one together should rip it apart and start over.
