repost from the main; case will be for my laptop
they have a lot of cases that are gun/bob sized
Anyone here own the double rifle case? I was looking at it as cabelas in PA today, was so nice but 209.99
I was thinking of getting it, right now I just own a 870 Express, but I plan on getting a rem 700 soon... if i have the funds
I hate hard rifle cases
I have a skb double rifle case (hard case). I own soft rifle cases too but if you travel you need a good hard case too. I like the SKB cases because first they come with insurance second they have interchangable locking latches. So you can go with TSA locks or non TSA locks. Good for if you fly with your guns to matches or classes.
$60-80 is good.
Pelicans are solid, but if the size I need is made by Hardigg, I go with them.
I use Pelican and Starlite. Both are awesome cases! My pistol case holds, 16 IIRC, is wheeled, and works like a damn charm.
My Starlight quad-rifle cases are wheeled, too.
To hell with a soft case! (Or should I say to hell and back with a hard case!)
I think so. Pick and Pluck FTL though.
If it's what you need, you really can't do any better.
I have the TSA carry-on sized Pelican I use for weekly travel. Have mostly lived out of it for the past year, and it lives in the bed of my truck when on the road. Still watertight and in great shape.
I love mine
I love my 1520 for carrying pistols to the range if someone is curious about shooting and wants to try a several different pistols.
the 1720 doesn't see as much use, but still glad I bought it, and if I had to buy another one, it would be a pelican.
i prefer SKB - but it's personal preference, really. pelicans have a good rep.
Worth the money if you need the protection. If you fly with them, you need something like that. If you dont, they're a pain in the ass to simply carry to the range. Soft cases are better for that.
You really need a waterproof crushproof case for your laptop. Are you James Bond or something? My laptop slips into my backpack(soft case. ) and hasn't suffered any damage yet regardless of how clumsy I am.
I wouldnt pay more than $50 for any gun case.
But then again Im just the guy that wraps everything up in GI wool blankets.
I dont think the TSA would let that go.
i'd say yes. saw a show on them about how they are made and how they are tested and what not...really really really durable cases.
do they make any that hold more than 2 guns?
As I stated above in my post, my "pistol case" holds 16 or so. My rifle cases hold 4 each; granted, my rifle cases are Starlight, but they're built as good as Pelicans, if not better.
actually, you left the number out of that post.
which model starlight do you have?
Yeah, I guess I did leave that out. Sorry; it's been edited.
I don't know the Starlight model. It's about 5' long, 5" deep, and 12" wide.
Four clasps, handle on far end and on opening side, and wheels on the other end.
It's just a big, heavy-ass case that seems indestructable. I saw a video of a M1 Abram running over one, FWIW.
i'm really looking for a 4 long gun case, one that either has two doors (open either door to access 2 of the 4 long guns) or two layers of foam so you can open it, put two down, put down the foam then two more.
this one looks like it's deep enough for 2+2 long guns but i can't tell if it comes with two pieces of foam to put one between the guns
