everyone is telling me to eat it. I plan for it in my daily calories but what are the benefits?
An ass load of protein.
Protein helps feed the muscles.
Whats the benefits of that say over whey?
Cottage cheese is casein protein which is slow digesting. Basically whey is absorbed pretty quickly, where as protein from cottage cheese (and milk I think) takes like 4 or 5 hours to fully digest. Thus feeding your body longer
so it will help me lose weight by taking longer to break down? Or it will just keep me full longer?
Probably neither, but it will help feed your muscles over night while you sleep
that's the one health food that i will not touch with an 8 foot pole. i can eat eggs and tuna til i'm blue in the face but you can't hide the disgusting texture of cottage cheese.
it's weird too, cos i buy it every once in a while and tell myself i'm gonna eat it. well, 4 out of the last 5 times i bought it, i never even opened the tub and threw it out when it went bad.
it's really good if you mix it with a little bit of fruit yogurt... Like... a bunch of cottage cheese, and then half an organic cup of raspberry yogurt... i love that
cottage cheese before bed is awsome because it keeps your muscles from going catabolic while you sleep. The idea is you want something slow digesting before bed, and something fast when you wake up.
you cant hide the texture? Is your blender broken? cottage cheese goes into every shake I drink
I hate that shit. I ended up buying casein powder..
Does that do the same thing? I mean I dont mind eating it. Its just 200 calories and Im cutting calories to like 1600 so thats 1/8 of my daily intake
cottage cheese with peaches and cinammon...
The reason most people eat Cottage Cheese is because of the Casein Protein which takes longer to digest, something like 6hours...so it's good to have when not eating for awhile like before sleeping
Probably because its gross and makes you vomit up all your other food.
I tried that once. All the curds just went to the bottom and wouldn't blend up.
it's not some magical weight loss meal
it's nothing special
calcium+protein can = weight loss
dairy as a whole, not sure about just cottage cheese
man i LOVE cottage cheese. I would eat it even if it was bad for you. though admittedly the non-reduced fat cottage cheese is a little to creamy, just feels fattening... but man, albertsons has sales about once a month where you can get 10 for 10 dollars, and i load up, same with 20 yogurts for 10, crazy bargains.
