400mhz, 128 ram, 20 gb hd
prob not a whole lot, im sure it can web n email, deff word processing.. if you can get it for cheap and its in good condition..would be a nice lappy for now jus for school or boring days.. try to get an airport installed.. n than get on the WWW.
i think it's a desktop?
it will be slow at everything... i had a dual 500mhz w/ 1gig ram that was painful (with Tiger installed). Upgraded to dual 1.2ghz processors, and ran like a dream.
I have a 400 mhz G4 Powermac with 768MB of ram and it does everything I need it to, including reauthoring DVDs, etc. I even run Win2k in VirtualPC on it.
Upgrade the RAM, run OS X Panther (10.3), should be a pretty capable machine.
I have an old G3 400 iMac that still works great as an internet machine, and even plays some old games... I would say the G4 should do at least that, and probably more.
You can do what people did 5 years ago???
But really, depending on what you plan on using the computer for, you should plan on upgrading the computer with memory atleast. But a processor upgrade might be a must, it all depends on what you want to do with your machine. I have a G4 450, but it has since been upgraded over the years. It now has a 1.2 GHz processor and the computer is very usable.
That's what I'm planning on doing to my dual 450
