TECH Aunts machine takes 20 mins to boot

Well it did. I deleted some shit, but it still takes maybe 12 minutes to boot up. It's a new intel Macbook, dual core 2.0 I think. 2g of ram I believe.

She's asking me to install more ram now

I don't have the machine in front of me right now. Is there like a "processes" panel like in XP? How else could I figure out what's slowing this thing down so much? She doesn't do shit, just email and surfing, but downloads and installs fucking everything she sees. I noticed 3 different programs in the dock to keep track of passwords, worthless crap like that.

open disk utility, then repair permissions - that should help.

in terms of a processes window - open up Activity Monitor.
