I have a .avi file that I want to burn so it will play on my DVD player.

Any free apps that are good?

I'd go with VisualHub too. Toast will do it but it's pretty slow compared to VisualHub.

As for the comment on getting a bit blocky, you may want to go into the advanced preferences and turn on 2 pass encoding. Also verify that those parts of the movie aren't blocky when blown up in the original file.

i'll try 2 pass next time, good thinking. the source material is decent at those parts, even at full screen i see very little blockiness

I did the rip with visual hub, but the video did not sync up with the audio towards the end of the movie...It was about a 2 second delay.

Do you think that is something 2pass would fix, or is that pretty much for video only
