i didnt buy holy gospel.
i just made up my own mix of holy cow, gospel, and holy voodoo.
:dunno:
Noted, I just wanted an assortment and this seemed like the best deal.
There was one with just the other 3, but this was like $1 off the 4th one.

Wanted to just get it at the ace hardware, but they only had 2 of them in store and cost about the same to ship as the markup at store.

dont get me wrong i want to try it. they say its not just a 50-50 mix of gospel and holy cow.

but i already bought several 1lb bags of different rubs before i saw it. plus its always fun to dial shit in to your own preferences. like adding the holy voodoo.

Always just copied meathead Memphis dust recipe, decided to treat myself.I've also never really did more than ribs or pulled pork smoking on a kettle.

I have those first 4. Voodoo didn't have as much spice as I thought it would. No complaints about the others.

I also use the lumberjack pellets. Competition and mesquite and hickory (maybe) blends so far.

Like I said I've mainly done ribs and pulled pork using small pieces of pork. I didn't trust my setup with anything more expensive than that.

Really want to do those beef plate ribs I always see, shit looks crazy. I've never had brisket before, so I'll probably do that soon too.

I've read on a few pages people mixing a few of them together, but a whole lot of people use the comp blend for everything.:dunno:

I've used the competition blend for ribs, pulled pork, a bunch of turkeys, baked beans, and some queso. But I haven't tried other woods on this smoker yet to compare.

I used the mesquite for the last brisket I did.

The only thing that worries me about pellet grills is lack of smoke flavor, based on what I've read at least.
Bought a 2 pack smoke tube 6&12 inch, and a gasket for the door.
Not sure the gasket will make a difference in smoke flavor but can't hurt to seal off leak from the door.
