I like the way Colt is the most common name given when talking 1911a1's.
Lesser of two evils = beretta 92fs
Browning High Power y0
beretta over colt... springfield over both.
hold and or shoot both and see what you like.... I haven'tn shot the 92fs but I have shot and do love the 1911.
92fs has a buttery smooth slide and a great stock trigger. If you put a reduced power trigger spring and you have a beautiful gun. The only downside is that they are fairly heavy compared to most other 9mm. IMO you are comparing apples to oranges between these two guns. I own both.
when i was shopping for a handgun, before i settled on my sig, i shot a colt 1911 and a beratta 92f. i enjoyed the feel of the beretta and its a nice looking gun, and i shot fairly well with it. the 1911 is a totally different beast, and i got a great deal of satisfaction from it. its kinda like comparing a Muscle car to an Import isnt it?
colt is greatest handgun eva as far as total quality and it sure as hell is better than a 92
