Looking to read some pdfs at work.
i think its hard to learn from a book. i heard saulos is great, and marcelo garcias stuff too. i need videos though
I feel you on the videos but I cant be watching vids with my boss sitting beside me. I'll watch some vids when she is gone .
Sweet the bosses is gone.
Any recommendations on vids online?
I've watched alot of these guys videos.
worst possible videos to watch. seriously.
it depends on what youre looking to learn dude.
im partial to stephen kesting and baret yoshida's videos
that submissions 101 guy is known to be sucky though.. and he seems a bit sleazy too. he wears a black belt in his videos when he isnt one
his excuse is he has a traditional ju jitsu black belt.. but doing a bjj technique wearing a black belt is very misleading
Wow, i had no idea.
I've grappled twice at my mma gym and i've done a little bit of grappling at my jkd class. So i dont know much.
I just appreciate the angles these guys give.
Any specific links would be greatly appreciated.
I've been watching Demian Maia's stuff on youtube
This guys is detailed as fuck.
I haven't had a lot of time lately. I'll let you try all that shit out! I'll even help you learn it (ie, I'll choke your ass)
Just need some free time and some space.
I've been pretty busy the last week. As well as being a little sick.
We need some mats or something, if we bjj on my carpet we'll just get rug burn.
I'd love to get those interlocking puzzle pieces but they are a lot more expensive than I thought they would be.
i have this whole instructional. he's about as bad as you can get when it comes to giving oral instructions but i liked the tape because he just shows a crapload of practical techniques really fast. this particular tape really changed my jiu jitsu when i was a new blue belt
You have a gi? ...
What are you going to do when you have to bjj someone on the street who doesnt have a gi?
oh damn you just got called out!
Just met you and i already hate you
grab triceps and head/traps/shoulders? ... I'll roll no gi, it's all good
Conversely Who walks around on Teh D34dlY StR337s nekkid? like no gi?
Seriously if you want self defense bjj isnt the greatest thing 4 teh s7r337. Do proper karate, boxing, kickboxing or judo/wrestling.
Saulo's book is good
Woah is that Barret Yoshida
I've got his butterfly guard instructional DVD. I don't really care for it. He's so dry and odd that it's distracting to me.
Wow thanks for the find chechen, i have just started to use high guard (although i don't like rubber guard) i find the highguard equally as offensive. My closed guard was lacking that offensive capability as i usually played de la riva guard as much as i can.
I can't really do shit from the closed guard either. You've got to open it up to really be offensive IMO.
