Looking to pick up a half decent camera, but I'm on a bit of a budget. Any suggestions?
canon S5 is supposed to be good
i figured it would be, but every review I read has a list of complaints about it and many say that it is quickly falling behind the competition and that it is priced high for what it is now.
with some searching you might be able to find a original digital rebel for that price...im not really sure.
if you can find a g6, g7 or g9 grab one
the olympus sp-550 has been a little better that I expected.
the canon s5is is always good
yup... check out ebay, or I'll sell ya my rebel w/ kit lens... I've still got it laying around
this is a question asked often here. for p&s, i like my canon sd850 is. cost me $320 shipped.
thank you all for the input, and please keep it coming.
thegoodson - How did you come to settle on the sd859 is and where did you get it?
image stablization was a key feature. i wanted a good camera that wasnt going to be outdated the day after i bought it. now that i have it, i am trying to learn how to use all of the features. im not a photographer by any means, but i can appreciate a good picture. i wanted to be able to capture several different kinds of shots, ranging from my brother racing, to snap shots out at the bar, to nice family photos, and good stills of cars. so far, it has worked better than i expected it too. finally, the price was right where i was looking, so i jumped on it.
i finally went with the S3 IS with 1G card, and camera bag for $316... thanks for everyone's imput
