I need to be able to get at least 71 push ups in 2 minutes for the Army. Right now I'm stuck around 60. Anyone have any ideas on how to improve?

    how much do you weigh?

    I use the pyramid pushups 20 19 18 17.....17 18 19 20
I also try to do a variation of pushups such as wide arms, diamond/closed hands, elevated, and so on

I was able to knock out 102 pushups in my last APFT using this system

I weight 180 with long arms. I'll try that pyramid. Is that just one working done all at once?

Place weight on your lower back, something that wont fall off. Your count will increase dramatically. I dont need push-ups for my PFT, but I did this with a buddy when we used to run circuits and towards the end it felt like I was pushing nothing up when I did them unweighted.
