when it doesn't have a swivel sling stud?

get a stud? does screwing it into the stock require precision? (like if it's off to the side by an inch, will that matter?)

    thanks!

Off by an inch? Hopefully you're more accurate :mamoru:

Take your time drilling the hole and a screw in stud will work perfectly

Just make sure it isn't so long that it will be touching the barrel

yah, the inch was an exaggeration, but you get my point.

Buy a stud. You can measure it, or eyeball it straight. Just get it as close to the middle as you can, otherwise your shit will have a perpetual lean to it.

DO NOT just screw the stud in. Drill a pilot hole first. Otherwise, you will likely crack your stock.

On the difficulty factor, I would rate it maybe a sip of 1 beer out of 5 complete beers total.

Just buy a $10.00 sling stud kit. You can probably get one at walmart.

i actually encountered this same problem when i get a custom fiberglass and carbon fiber stock for my 10/22. i used a heat gun to warm the metal on the bipod until it was almost glowing then melted the stock onto it.

it was a sort of a "measure twice, cut once" type deals but now my bipod is on there and will never move

i actually just used a self tapping screw with mine and haven't had any issues. had to use a short one though because the first one touched the barrel. :(
