Hey ppl, do you remember Bill Hicks??
I saw there's a Bill Hicks live dvd coming out seems to be good, doesn't it?? He was very controversial and is still a influence for many people and artists!

here are more info about Bill Hicks

Bill Hicks began performing in Houston Comedy Clubs as an underage fifteen-year-old. Shortly after graduating high school, Bill moved to LA, performing alongside then-unknowns Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, and Gary Shandling. With the support of Leno, Bill appeared on David Letterman's show for the first time in 1984.

By their very nature, Bill's ideas were controversial to much of the general public. Bill had his ankle broken and a gun was pointed at him on stage. Despite these experiences, he refused to compromise his material.

    DAVID LETTERMAN: "He never disappointed."

"Bill Hicks - blowtorch, excavator, truthsayer, and brain specialist, like a reverend waving a gun around. He will correct your vision. Long may his records rant, even though he can't" - Tom Waits

"Bill Hicks was right about everything." - Henry Rollins

Now for the first time, the new DVD BILL HICKS LIVE: Satirist, Social Critic, Stand-Up Comedian captures the legendary comedian in three of his most notorious full-length filmed performances: HBO's One Night Stand from the Old Vic Theatre in Chicago, Revelations from the Dominion Theatre in London and Relentless, Bill's infamous breakout performance at the Montreal Comedy Festival.

Here is Hicks at his most explosive, assaulting stages and audiences with his fiery insights into our twisted world; corporate musicians - "I want musicians who ROCK!" - the government, the military, the police, religion, smoking, pornography, anti-drug paranoia and even a couple of dick jokes. Simply put, BILL HICKS LIVE is the ultimate document of an extraordinary performer at his absolute peak. As a bonus, the DVD also includes It's Just A Ride, the acclaimed 1994 documentary that explores Bill's remarkable life and legacy featuring additional performance clips and insights from peers including Eddie Izzard and Eric Bogosian. Total running time for the DVD is nearly 3 ½ hours of uncut, uncensored and uncompromising Bill Hicks.

"This DVD contains everything your parents hate, everything the church preaches against, everything the government fears. Enjoy" - Bill Hicks
