Deathloop kinda lost me I think

Ain't been feeling like playing it

Happens to me all the time. I can't count how many times I've gone through like 75% of a game and then just stopped playing. I've probably done that more than I have actually beaten games, hah.

Chrono Trigger is the worst for me. It's one of my favorite old school RPGs and I think it's one of the best games of all time, but I still haven't actually beaten it, hah. I have gotten to like 80% finished maybe 6-8 times and then I just move on to something else, even though I'm still actually enjoying the game. It's basically a tradition at this point, around every two years I start a fresh game of Chrono Trigger, I get way into it, then I just stop.

Hmmm I could see that perhaps. Dunno they are quite separate in my mind even tho they both fall in survivor horror on a very general basis

Res evil is always must play for me, each installment is worthy and enjoyable as fuck. RE4 remaster was always day one regardless of reviews which I'm sure will be very very strong

i wouldn't say each installment is worthy. i loved 1 and 2 and code veronica but i felt like 3 was too much like 2 to stand on its own legs. code veronica was starting to feel a bit stale too but the huge graphics jump from prerendered to 3d models that looked good (at the time) made it stand out a bit. 0 was fine. it was mostly more of the same but they added this item swap technique and a large part of the game took place on train which made it a solid playthrough. wasn't very exciting though, still felt stale. 4 was amazing, 5 they doubled down on the action and made it co-op only (or single player with a horribly stupid AI) for some reason which both made it way worse than 4 or any others to that point IMO. 6 was not a good game. they split it up into campaigns for the different characters. leon was ok, felt like more basic resident evil stuff but weirdly simplified. chris was just pure action game and a really generic one at that so i just tapped out there. never finished. 7 and 8 as well as 2 remake were returns to form for the franchise, updated enough to feel fresh, the best since 4. haven't done 3 remaster yet. it's $10 on steam right now so i'll just grab it and give it a go. that's cheap enough that i don't care it's so short.

did you do the part inside the amusement park thing? it's like this live action role play experience with an AI controlling it and one of the targets is at the end. that shit was fire. the radio show host area was fantastic too, some truly fantastic level design in that game.

i liked piecing together the story of the world, that game gets gold marks from me in story. just how i want a video game story to be told, in a way that's unique to the video game medium. i did find it to become a bit too easy when i was able to spawn in with maxed out weapons and maxed out upgrades and all the slabs available, but arkane games usually have you overpowered at the end.

Switched to Assassin's Creed 2 and it's in a different league compared to Black Flag in terms of story and even how the gameplay feels

I just want to reiterate that @preston is a real bitch for bailing on this franchise

I saw you could get a beta code by buying a KFC double down sandwich
True story … it was a rumor at first, then people made fun of it, then it turned out to be accurate

I preordered because I was 100% going to buy the game anyway
