unity has a good story, good gameplay, some of the best assassinations in the franchise, i loved soloing co-op missions more than just about anything else in the franchise, a decent little murder mystery sidegame kinda thing... and a whole fucking LOT of treasure chest bloat scattered around the world with the same bullshit guard setup for the same bullshit locked door garbage that bogged the game down and i'm just completely incapable of restraining myself from clearing maps in open world games.

i'll do FF7 remake when the whole game is out, i don't wanna just play the starter area, that was my least favorite part of the original anyway and i always looked forward to the more open part later in the game

Ok, so Hogwarts is done. Ultimately while I enjoyed the game, it's strongest section is in the early part of the game, when you're first exploring the castle and Hogsmeade and getting introduced to things. It does kinda devolve into a pretty standard open-world game midway through. I liked the combat but I wish there was maybe a little more variety to it. Also, I wish there was a little more depth to some of the other activities. I'm also not sure that the Diablo-esque loot system was the way to go here.

I'd probably rate it...maybe a 7.5/10 overall. Maybe an 8 if I'm feeling really generous. I'd you're a big Harry Potter fan, add a point to that.

i've heard the performance is better on steam deck right now so i'll probably play it when it gets a hefty sale. given how successful that it was i have no hopes that this future sale will come about this year.

It's definitely worth checking out at some point just to experience the first 10 hours or so and see the castle and the town and everything. The design in those areas is truly impressive.

looking at RE3 remake on Steam and you can actually get RE2 + RE3 remakes for $15. i did RE2 on playstation already but i could always do a replay at some point, don't feel like it now but might in the future and $5 more is hardly a steep price to pay.

resident evil 3 runs nearly flawlessly on the deck, been a steady 60 fps right out of the box, no fiddling at all, except it dipped to about 56 once when i swung the camera around.
