so bros i think i may beat my first newish resident evil game(re7)
i powered through my shook boi feelings and according to the ign guide table of contents(i’m using no guide just wanted to see how far along i am) i’m at roughly the halfway point, maybe a bit past it
the anxiety wore off and now i’m sort of decked out with ammo and repaired guns and shit and now if i see one of those duke monsters i blast a mfer and just keep on going.
for me, having never played one all the way through, the problem solving and puzzles are fun as shit. reminds me loosely of how zelda works. you come across a gap you can’t cross or a door you can’t enter and pass it about fifty times and you finally get the item and now you’re sort of giddy to see what’s behind this previously blocked area
super cool experience. i may just play 8 after this or another free one if it’s available![]()
you PC gaming? iirc you're a console peasant but in the off chance you aren't you can get RE2 + RE3 remakes for $15 on steam right now
RE2 remake is fantastic, it includes most of the original content but sadly does not do the B playthrough nearly as well as the original version. RE3 cuts half the content for some unknown reason and is stupidly short which makes it double down on the "glorified expansion pack" feeling RE3 already had but it's still fun. just could've been so much better.
Village is on sale too for $20
I liked Village more than VII.
also if you never played it, you could probably get The Evil Within 1 for cheap and that was a survival horror masterpiece from the same director as RE1 and RE4, Shinji Mikami.
