Only heinlein I've read was troopers and I honestly wasn't much of a fan. Felt like it was primarily political sermonizing masquerading as scifi

I know I read the mote in gods eye but it's been so long that I barely remember it

Lucifers hammer was more memorable for me

I've never read it but it was the book a secret shopper asked for the 1st time I was part of a random customer service quality check when I worked in a bookstore, so now the name, author, and appearance of the mass market paperback are forever seared into my memory.

Because I need to take up space in my brain with THAT apparently.

It's a realistic depiction of what would happen after an asteroid impact

I don't remember Starship Troopers TBH. But TMIAHM is pretty great. About Luna colony trying to suceed from Earth. Shit was legit af. Most people I know say Stranger in a Strange Land is his best work. But I don't agree. Orphans in the Sky is also pretty enjoyable, about a generation ship, that has spent so long going to its destination, no one remembers anything about the ship.

Troopers spent like 2/3 of the book on political indoctrination in the classroom and the last 30 pages or so with anything actually happening

the moon is a harsh mistress is pretty well written but too libertarian for my tastes

ill check out orphans in the sky concept reminds me of an awesome show idea i had that i will never get around to writing

seveneves was pretty good as an exploration of a post apocalyptic asteroid impact, iirc it hit the moon and the moon shattered and was gonna rain massive rocks on the earth for thousands of years
