After reading the first two Malazan books I’m ok with them, but not overwhelmingly so. I think I enjoy GRRM and Abercrombie more. It also bothers me that he can’t write female characters or their stories well.

I also enjoyed Moon more than Gates. But I’m looking forward to Ice.

He's given you fucks 17 books while the people who enjoy his other writings have gotten 6 Codex Alera and 1 Cinder Spires books.

yeah I know , Hidden Gnome is the publishing company that Will Wight made when he decided that when he brought out the paperback versions of his books he didn't want to work with any of the currently existing ones.

He went over his reasoning's awhile ago but I think it came down to editorial control and money.

He's hinted for awhile that he wanted to sign other authors on and while Travis went with Tor to let this book out I am looking forward to see who Will brings on for his first new talent.

The Dresden series is just a lot better than Codex Alera and Cinder Spires.

Sanderson's latest Mistborn book was pretty heavy on the-world travel and interworld conflict aspects of his Cosmere. After so many different series, magic systems, and worlds, it has been pretty cool seeing them finally start to interact more with one another.

I’m about to finish book 8 of The Expanse and am greatly concerned about what to read next. I have an assload of nonfiction bookmarked on my goodreads but can’t pull the trigger to actually order any one of the books from my local store.

Just finished these two. They were both really good, in the same way her other series was good. Create an interesting Sci-Fi premise then use it to talk about everyday life stuff.

why the hell is this last battle chapter in the last WoT book 190 pages long, it's so repetitive. man EVERYTHING in this series needed heavy editing. almost like these choads were paid per word.

Yeah, that bugged me too, I feel like he was trying to pull a hard cliffhanger and he's just not good at it.

brandon sanderson's wheel of time books have the most illogical chapters i've ever seen, i don't know what rhyme or reason there is for where he decides to stop a chapter. it's like he has page numbers on a dartboard. "ok we got 5, this'll be a 5 page chapter." "hmmm 190? guess i'll try to make it work."
