and I haven't touched my camera in a few days, so I took a few snapshots.

Dumb question, but how did you take the black and white pic or make it black and white via editing?
always do them in editing. RGB coloring, desaturated. I never do Grayscale.

That and also WHCC asks your B&W to be in RGB rather than Grayscale. Minus whale just have it in RGB to begin with
On top of that, the RGB data is retained when you're shooting in RAW format anyhow. No point to making the changes on the camera.
